Speeches & Leaflets - exemplar questions (2022)
In anticipation of this year’s Transactional Writing task, I’ve gone ahead and composed a series of questions so that you can get some practice at planning/writing to these specific text types - leaflets and speeches.
I’ve taken each extract, identified a couple of key themes and then produced a possible question inspired by those key ideas. Give one or two of these a try…
The Danger of a Single Story – stereotypes, importance of stories
Write a leaflet encouraging young people to support and help create a culture of inclusion and respect in their school.
‘Exposing young people to a range of good stories is the foundation for a good education’. Write a speech expressing your views about this statement.
A Passage to Africa – human suffering, the complexity of reporting tragedy
Write a leaflet designed to persuade people to donate to a humanitarian charity.
